Common cell phone configuration: Tip = Microphone, 1st Ring = Right Speaker +, 2nd Ring = Left Speaker +, Base = Common Ground -. This is the hard to find 2.5mm 4 conductor plug used on newer cell phones. The twisted pair conductors are pre-stripped for quick connection, while the tinned, overall shield acts as the fourth conductor for ground. Microphone conductor (shown in specification sheet) is not present on product.
